This last week in December has four family birthdays, each two days apart. Today we honour the only doctor in the Erickson family, Dr. Morris Markentin. He became a member of the Erickson family on July 29, 1995 when he married our niece, Joan Erickson.
In 2009 the Markentin family moved from their acreage near Rosthern, SK to Saskatoon. Morris works at the West Side Clinic with the inner city population. This position gives him more home time in the evenings as well as time to go on some road trips to swim meets and to take in evening activities of their four children. Morris also works with addictions and a Hepatitis C clinic in Prince Albert once a month.
Morris and Joan's annual Christmas letter is entitled "Waterways" as all four of their children are very involved in water sports. Eleven year old Hans is an avid swimmer. Nine year old Bjorn will be competing in at least two events in national diving competitions in Montreal next summer. Five year old twins, Erika and Elisa, also swim and dive as well as being in gymnastics. The Shaw Centre has become their second home! They all are taking music too so what a busy household.

You won't have any balmy weather today with temperatures in the minus twenty range plus some windchill! But it isn't that great today in parts of California either, with frost warnings in several places and heavy rain as well. Enjoy your day, Morris, however you spend it. We hear glowing reports about "Dr. Markentin" and are proud to have you in our family.
