HAPPY 11TH ANNIVERSARY, CLARE AND JODI !

Today is another special day in our family as Clare and Jodi were married at the Regina Greenhouse on December 17, 1999.  It was a lovely setting with a poinsettia "tree" and other beautiful blooming plants not usually seen in Saskatchewan in December.  After the wedding they were off on a honeymoon in Mexico.

Jodi is a teacher at St. Michael's Junior High in Weyburn where she has a grade eight homeroom.  Clare is a chartered accountant/farmer so we see lots of him during springs work and harvest.

Jodi grew up in the city so marrying a farmer has brought a few changes.  She has even learned to run a combine!  Clare bought two of the same kind so they have a His and Hers.  Here's a picture of them at work this past harvest.

Clare and Abbey are in the front combine and Jodi in the back one.  I don't know which combine is which unless I look in the cab.  One combine seems to be a lot cleaner than the other one!

Jodi appreciates antiques and older houses so was excited when a 1920's house came up for sale on 2nd street and they were able to buy it a few years ago.  Most of the interior had been redone with layers of wallpaper stripped, walls freshly painted, hardwood floors refinished.  It was ready to move into.  The latest improvement was to move the laundry room up from the basement to the back entry.  Abbey loves washing clothes in the new front loading washer!

Last year Clare, Jodi and Abbey spent Christmas in California.  Here are a couple pictures from that trip.

This next picture was taken last August on the steps of Salem Lutheran Church, just two miles north of our farm.

This year Clare, Jodi and Abbey are planning to spend Christmas in Phoenix, AZ where Jodi's brother has a condo.  They are flying from Bismarck, ND on Dec. 23rd so we are planning to have an early Christmas at the farm on the 22nd.

Have a very Happy Anniversary tomorrow and a wonderful holiday in Arizona!
