Back home again

I got home about 3:30 this afternoon after bucking wind most of the way, especially from Milestone to Weyburn this morning.  I visited Howard before lunch.  The trip to Regina yesterday went well for Clare and Howard.  His CT scan was at the General.  An orderly came with a wheelchair for him and took him where he needed to go so Clare could go and park the car.  The scan just took a few minutes and then they were off to A & W before heading back to Weyburn.  Clare drove around there a bit, through a car lot and then to DQ for a milkshake.  I'm sure Howard had his usual vanilla!  When the Dr. gets the results of the scan we will have a family conference with him to discuss plans for the future.  Today the Dr. also ordered a urine test as Howard's legs have been swelling.

Howard's memory for the past is fantastic but for yesterday, not so great.  Today he remembered one of the nurses being a supervisor when he was a patient at Souris Valley in the 1980's.  He knew the name of the Dr. and a male nurse who also also worked with him.  The nurse was quite impressed as all his facts were right on after almost thirty years!

I stayed home with Ashley a couple evenings while Laurel was uptown with hockey.  Ashley loves books.  I'm sure I read Jan Brett's "The Mitten" ten times at least. She also likes "The Christmas Baby" that I brought her.  It has an advent calendar at the front and a nativity pop-up at the back. Then we played catch with a knit ball that Eunice Dravland made.  It's stuffed with polyester fibrefill so is safe to use in the house!  We also played hide and go seek but I never got to hide!

I don't plan to go back to Weyburn until Sunday afternoon.  With Christmas less than three weeks away, I have our mail to get ready and baking to do. It wouldn't hurt to do some house cleaning too!  Thanks for phone calls and emails and most of all, your prayers.  I'll let you know when we get results of the scan.
