FRIDAY FEATURE -Just more flatbread!

Nothing new today, still baking flatbread.  I did forget to mention that when I make flatbread, I wear a special apron that my mother sewed for me many years ago.  The bib apron is patchwork with a ruffle at the bottom. Mom had seen one in a craft store but thought they were asking too much so she drew a little diagram of it and went home and sewed one for me and one for Sandra.  I keep a bandanna in the pocket to keep my hair undercover when I'm baking.  Kirk calls me "Aunt Jemima" so you get the picture.

Laurel sent me pictures taken earlier this week so I'll add them now.  Here we are reading "The Mitten" before bedtime.

And here Ashley is eating her yummy breakfast scone, fresh from the oven, while studying the nativity scene at the back of "Christmas Baby".

Today I went to Torquay to help set up tables for our annual Christmas smorg on Sunday.  Then I drove to Ambrose for the mail and came home with four parcels, two for me and two for Laurel.  We like shopping online!  Amazon.com ships most items free if the order is over $25 and JC Penney offers free shipping too when you spend a certain amount.  I've done almost all of my Christmas shopping this way, very relaxing with no crowds or lineups.

A nurse called yesterday and set up an appointment for our family conference with Dr. Suberu regarding Howard.  We'll meet at 10:00 on Tuesday morning in Weyburn so I will update my blog after that meeting.  I'm holding off sending my Christmas mail until then too.  My letter is on the computer so I'll just add a paragraph and then get it run off at the Credit Union in town.

My plans are to visit Howard on Saturday, weather and roads permitting.  I'll come home the same day as our smorg is Sunday after church, 11:15 for this Sunday only.  On Monday our circle plans to meet at Lilah's in Estevan.  We'll have a potluck brunch after our study.  Instead of exchanging gifts with our prayer pals, we'll give money to Lutheran World Relief for a "Gift from the Heart" program.  Last year we gave $75 for a pair of goats.  Goats provide milk for drinking, manure for gardens and meat for eating.  The gift continues to grow as the goats reproduce and multiply. Much better than exchanging trinkets that none of us need!

With that, I will sign off for this week.  I am doing fine at home and appreciate your emails, phone calls and prayers.  You are fulfilling God's command to "bear one another's burdens".
