The above was posted on Facebook this morning and I thought it was worth sharing. It's a good reminder to me not to be anxious about the future. It's in good hands!
Yes, the storm did hit this area on Friday with snow and wind for most of that day. I stayed put, just one trip out to feed the cats! Clare came down on Saturday afternoon and moved a lot of snow with his tractor and dozer. That enabled me to get out of the yard and take in worship service this morning at Trinity. Pastor Danny had an excellent message on baptism as this Sunday commemorates the baptism of Jesus. I enjoyed the fellowship we have over coffee in the auditorium. It was good to have Lawrence, Cheryl, Gloria and Oran with us this morning. They are spending this week at the condo in Estevan. Lawrence isn't sure where he wants to spend the rest of the winter, in Estevan or a place in Calgary that is available for him. Those decisions aren't easy to make after losing a spouse.
Grandson Carter had a thrill this past week when he got to meet former Calgary Flames player, Lanny McDonald at Lampman School no less! You might wonder what Lanny was doing in Lampman. He works for Flint, the company that bought out Carson's, which that had its start in Lampman. A former Calgary Stampeder, Rocco Romano, also works for Flint and owns the Grey Cup ring. When Carter learned that Lanny was going to be at school in the afternoon, he rounded up several of his Calgary Flame items and got Lanny's autograph on them. Good for you, Carter! Here are pictures:

Tomorrow I'll have to go out and take some pictures of the piles of snow in the yard. The pheasants are still able to find their durum under the snow. I think the wind uncovered some of it for them! Todd and Kristy gave me Norsk "ice runners" for Christmas so I'm going to try them out tomorrow. They are an anti slip device that fastens on the bottom of boots or runners. They are supposed to give a great foothold on snow and ice so that's what's needed these days. I'll let you know how they work!
Have a great week. It's currently - 27º C but the forecast is for + 1º on Tuesday. It's better for our streets and roads if it stays cold as the mild weather usually results in icy conditions. I'll be off to quilting on Tuesday so will see some of you then. Now, what should I bring for potluck?
