I AM IN YUMA!

We arrived in Yuma just as the sun was setting.  We actually couldn't see it because of the clouds in the west but that was good as otherwise Ernie would have been facing the sun for those last miles.  It's so good to be here!  I have my own room, the den, with an adjoining bathroom.  Perfect!

The flight to Phoenix went well and arrived right on schedule.  Ernie, Myrna and their cousin Sue were right there to meet me.  Then we headed to the Cracker Barrel for a tasty supper.  We had a yummy breakfast at the hotel this morning, then headed to the Phoenix Zoo.  It was perfect timing as a record was set today with a temp of 80º F!  What a change from SK temps the last while.  I have pictures but couldn't seem to add them tonight.  Will try again tomorrow.

We also toured Old Town Scottsdale and had a late lunch at "Italian Grotto", an excellent choice.  It was fascinating to drive through the desert area on the way to Yuma.  An interesting stop was at Date Land where we enjoyed their specialty, date milkshakes!  I love dates so loved the shake too.

Myrna checked the paper tonight so we can plan our activities for the next few days.  Tomorrow we are going to a Chinese Circus and on Friday a performance of "My Fair Lady" by a local group. I don't think I'll be bored with a start like that.

Well, this is just a summary of my holiday so far.  I'll keep you informed!
