A Sunny Sunday!

The weather was more normal for Yuma today so we enjoyed the sunshine. We went to the 9:30 church service as the choir sings at that one. They sang an arrangement of "Oh, How Beautiful the Sky". I remember singing that same one!

After church we drove to the new Denny's but there was such a long wait for a table that we left. We ended up at Mimi's. Ernie dropped Myrna and I off and went to park. We enjoy looking at license plates to see where they are from. As we walked towards the door I spotted a SK plate- NANA H. That's Charlene Hanson's plate from Torquay! I walked around the tables and sure enough - there was Charlene and her friend Nora!! Good thing we hadn't stayed at Denny's! We exchanged phone numbers so can plan to meet this week.

We went for a Sunday afternoon drive and saw fields and fields of lettuce and other vegetables in various stages of growth.

When we got back Myrna and I went for an hour long walk. Lawn grass is rare here. Most front yards are covered with small stones with cactus and palm trees scattered here and there. Trees laden with oranges, lemons or grapefruit are a common site. One yard had several grapefruit in a little pile on a gate post. We assumed they were there for the taking so we have one to enjoy for tomorrow's breakfast!

Suppertime so by for now.
