Yesterday was sunny for the most part. Today is starting out cloudy and rainy. The temperature is plus 4 with a forecast of +10 for today and +12 for tomorrow. Sounds great. The piles of snow are shrinking.
After a lazy morning yesterday, I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I found a recipe on the internet that used vegetable oil instead of margarine. I also substituted whole wheat flour for white and cut down on the sugar. I don't think I let the oven heat up quite long enough but the cookies were okay, not great. I will try the recipe again and it might become a favorite. I try to make cookies as healthy as possible - whole wheat flour, oil and less sugar than called for. Sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the recipe "just right". Next time I will add some chopped nuts too. I love nuts, in fact I often crave them rather than chocolate or sweets. I must take a little stash along in my suitcase!
We went for a walk in the afternoon. It's up and down hill wherever you go in Kristiansund. I wanted to stop in at a little souvneir shop but it's only open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We'll try again today and maybe continue on to the mall downtown. It's fun just to brouse.
Looks like we'll need an umbrella or rain coats today so will have to borrow from Todd & Kristy. I am looking for glass Nisse made by the Hadeland glassworks but they are more of a Christmas item so I may be out of luck this time of the year.
Time for breakfast so this is it for now.
