Day two in Norway

It took awhile to get to sleep last night but once we did, we slept until nine this morning! Kristy and Todd were up and we were treated to fresh fruit- orange slices, kiwi and grapes. This was followed by bacon and eggs in a bagel - yum!

It's another cloudy, rainy day but the temperature is plus 7 so some of the snowbanks should be disappearing before long. Perhaps we will do some shopping today. Our Canadian dollar has risen in value so it is worth more in Norwegian krone. On our last trip we would divide the number of krone by five to find the value in Canadian. Now it is close to six. So something that costs 30 krone is now a little over $5 instead of $6 Cdn.

Well, Kristy is off to the library and post office so I will walk with her and stop in at my favorite place to shop - the Salvation Army second hand store! Everything is in walking distance of their house - church, post office, library, the harbor and downtown shopping area!

Howard and Todd are getting set to watch a Bonanza rerun. Laurel gave Todd a set of Bonanza DVD's a couple years ago as that was a favorite show for Howard and the boys.

We brought the DVD of the movie "Up" so we enjoyed that last night. It's not often that the two main characters in a movie are a senior and a youngster. It looks at life from both perspectives and finds adventure in the common place and seemingly boring times in life as well as the "biggies". Every day is an adventure to be lived to the fullest!

I am off to shop so will let you know if I find any goodies.
