Five More Sleeps

Yes, the countdown is on - five more sleeps until we head for Norway. The suitcases are getting packed (and unpacked!) as I change my mind about what to take and what to leave. We will stay at Laurel and Greg's on Tuesday night and fly out of Regina on Wednesday morning around ten heading for Toronto, then London, Oslo and finally to Kristiansund in time for supper on their Thursday evening. There will be 8 hours difference when the time changes this Sunday.

Today I attended a 55 Alive/Mature Driving course at the Torquay Fifty and Over Club. It is sponsored by the Saskatchewan Safety Council and was just excellent. No tests or driving - more of a refresher course for those of us who took driver training years ago and are in need of an update or just reminders. I would recommend it to every community. We each received a Participants Workbook with tips, questions and opportunities for discussion. We watched several informative videos. The day went by very quickly. Take it if you have a chance. There's no cost involved to participants.

Tomorrow we are going to Weyburn for a hockey tournament. Dawson's team from Milestone area and Carter's from Lampman/Carlyle are will play each other at 12:15 . They are both confident that their team will win! We will also celebrate a belated birthday for Ashley who turned two on March 2 and Eric who was eight on March 8.

I am thinking of my cousin, Vern Erickson, who was born on this day in 1936 and passed away at the young age of fifty-two. He always had a smile on his face and often a toothpick in his mouth.

Time to make supper and get a few things crossed of my "to do" list.
