| Not many flowers blooming yet, but lots of GREEN! |
| My rock garden with irises soon ready to blossom and tulips just fading |
Clare and Jason are hoping to be back seeding this evening. They loaded up flax and fertilizer and were off to the next field so hope it's dry enough to work. The forecast is iffy for the weekend so they are anxious to get as much done as they can in case it rains again. It's windy and plus 20 with some sunshine today so it's been a good drying day. Too bad I don't have clothes on the line! Too bad I don't have a line to hang clothes on! I miss that so will have to see about getting a line put up again.
I went to Estevan on Tuesday afternoon, had quite a few errands to do and was pleased to cross them all off my list before I came home! I picked up a parcel at Sears, mostly clothes I had ordered for myself. I had picked out three dresses but will be returning all three. One was the wrong size so I didn't even try to put that size eight on!! The other two looked better on the hangers than they did on me. I was happy with the lime green denim jacket so will wear that to Jamie's grad tomorrow along with navy pants and a white tee shirt. The pair of earrings and pendant that my nephew Kris made have green leaves and orange flowers so I will wear them with it.
Speaking of Kris, I was glad to learn today that he has a new job - with Canada Post delivering mail. That will be perfect for him as it's part time and he will still be able to work at his jewelry making. He'll get his exercise every day too!
Greg finished seeding all that he is able to do this week so he's happy to get about 80% of the land in crop after so much snow this past winter. They were fortunate around Milestone to miss the heavy rains that fell to the south of them. These last rain clouds just seemed to hang along a line south of Weyburn and Assiniboia. The south-west got dumped on too as Sanford's had over five inches in the last while. The cattle will have lush grass to feed on!
I am enjoying doing yard work again. It wasn't a priority last year, didn't even plant a garden as I was going to be gone for three weeks in the summer. Michael, who was house sitting here last year, planted quite a few things. I enjoyed the bountiful tomatoes and the juicy, sweet cantaloupes. I might pick up some more plants and seeds when I go through Estevan tomorrow on the way to Jamie's kindergarten grad.
Ashley had her kindergarten orientation today so I'll have to give her a call and see how that went. I just did that and found out that there will be 23 kindergarten students at Milestone School this fall. Twenty-four would qualify hiring a teacher aid for the class so maybe there'll be one more student before school starts.
Tonight is Dawson's band concert at the school so Grandma J should be there. Just can't get to every school event though, much as I'd like to be there. He plays the alto sax, as does Carter.
Well, I've had a break now so now it's back to the books! See you again on Sunday.
