Home again, home again

I had a chance to go to Saskatoon with Clare on Sunday as he was going up for a two day accounting course.  But that was a busy time for some of the family who I was hoping to visit so I did "Plan B" instead and spent two fun days at Laurel and Greg's.

Ashley kept me entertained.  We read stories, played house and she even let me sleep with her.  "Why are you snoring, Grandma?"  She was so excited when she looked out the window on Tuesday morning and saw "Puddles!"  She got her splash pants on and out she went.  Where there's a puddle, there's also mud so the splash pants and jacket had to be left outside before Ashley could come in the house.

Laurel and I worked in the living-room.  We sorted books, toys, CD's, DVD's and packed away quite a few of them.  Then we rearranged the room and decided that it was quite cosy when we were done.  The boys had two chairs that they claimed when watching TV.  They were quite worn from much use and Grandma was ready to get rid of them.  Dawson was okay with that but Eric protested.  So we compromised and his chair is now covered with a nice brown quilt that Laurel bought from Torquay Ladies Aid.  Ashley has a nice wooden rocker that is her spot to watch her favorite shows.

We did some work in the laundry room on Tuesday.  I sorted through lots of interesting "stuff" in the large storage cupboard and on the desk.  Now she can do the same for me when she comes home.  It's always more interesting to clean up someone else's clutter!

I have another dentist appointment today for a filling and a cleaning.  That should be it for awhile!  I'll visit Howard after that, bring him a new clock for the wall and a binder that Laurel set up for him with his list of telephone numbers and pictures of the grandkids.  He doesn't do much reading, but likes to look at pictures.

I'll pick up a new phone for him at Canadian Tire that came in yesterday on a "rain check".  I might have to take it home first to get the batteries charged up.  I hope it works for him as he is having trouble dialling.  This phone has spaces for four speed dials with the name beside each button.  The days are getting shorter now so he shouldn't be calling any of us at 5:30 a.m.!

Well, I'm off to Estevan so this is it for now.
