Well, spring has sprung.  We've had sunshine, but also cool winds so I'm looking forward to some calm, warm days to make it really seem like spring.  At least this area missed out on the snow and cold weather that hit the western part of the province on Monday.

Now for the Wednesday words.  This week I took them from page 28 of "The Furrow" on the page "fun and Philosophy".  It's the one page that I regularly read in this monthly magazine published for John Deere.  The quote that stood out for me was by Elbert Hubbard (1856-1915). "It does not take much strength to do things, but it requires great strength to decide what to do."  I find this true as I'm not one to usually make quick decisions.  Hence I spend too much time trying to decide WHAT to do and could have had the job done had I spent the time and energy doing instead of deciding.  I spend time looking at recipes and by the time I've decided what I'm going to bake or cook, I could have had cookies baked or a casserole in the oven!

This week I have decided to catch up on bookwork, no more putting it off!  Clare is anxious to get income tax clients taken care of ASAP as it looks like we could be in for an early spring.  I should have them ready for him on Friday!

I went to quilting on Monday and it was around 4:30 when I got back to the house.  It was too late to visit Howard before supper so I went up after I'd eaten.  We had just tried to call Kirk's from Howard's room, but got no answer.  I had barely hung up when I heard Kirk's voice in the hallway and the whole family walked in the door.  What a pleasant surprise!  Carter needed a haircut so they all came to Estevan    and spent the evening visiting at St. Joe's.  We ended up going down to the activity room as they found Ken there working on a jigsaw puzzle.  Soon Shauna's Uncle Frank and our Aunt Viola were there too.  Ken went to his room and came back with a box of chocolates so we all had a treat.  Carter wanted to go to the cafeteria for toast but it was closed ( and Dad had also said NO)  Kirk has a neat way of curbing the kids spending at the rink.  He gives them a set amount and says he'll double what they have left when they get home!

I didn't get my workout on the treadmill this morning so I thought I'd go down and spend the 30 minutes before I had supper tonight.  I'm not sure what happened but I had just set the speed that I usually start with, stepped on the treadmill and down I went!  The treadmill kept going and I ended up at the end of it, finally able to get off.  I might be black and blue in a few places for the next few days.  My left shoulder is sore so I'm hoping I can still make a batch of flatbread in the morning.  When I left St. Joe's I was thinking that I should go for my walk around the grounds there, but decided against that and drove home.  I should have obeyed those promptings!

I'm planning to do an extra blog this week.  Kirk turns 40 on Friday so I'll feature him with some words and pictures on the 23rd.  See you then!
