HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NOLA AND BLAINE!

Blaine Martin Sanford and Nola Mandy Conrad

having fun at Grandma Sandra and Grandpa Merle's

Two of my sisters grandchildren share the same birthdate. Nola was born on June 15, 2006 in Red Deer.  Blaine Martin Sanford was born two years later in Swift Current.  Besides sharing the same birthday, they both have special second names.  Nola has her Auntie Mandy's second name.  Blaine has his uncle Martin's second name.  Nola is the youngest child in her family with older sister Megan and brother Rylan.  Blaine is the oldest sibling in his family with little sister Katie and a new baby on the way.

Nola's first Christmas
Nola is excited to be five years old as now she can go to kindergarten this fall.  She was off to a kindergarten orientation this past week so is all set for the big day now.  She enjoyed play school days and even got to star in a Gord Banford video as his daughter is in Nola's class. (Check out "My Daughter's Father" on YouTube if you haven't seen it. Nola is in the painting scene with Paisley.)

Blaine enjoyed his play school days too but his favourite pastime is helping his dad around the farm.  He has even followed Jason up the ladder onto the roof of a grain bin!  He is very observant and notices when Grandpa Merle has new boots or if some machinery has been moved in the yard.  Nothing gets by Blaine!

I enjoyed a trip to Lacombe with Sandra in May.  Here's a picture taken on Sunday, May 15.  On the way home I spent two nights in Frontier and had a morning coffee at Jason and Marion's. Here's a picture of Blaine having his favourite Rice Crispie squares on Grandma Sandra's lap, along with his cup of "coffee". When I find some current birthday pictures on Facebook, I'll add them here. (Thanks for these, Marion and Mareena)
