BLOSSOM TIME

My two apple trees in bloom.

It's such a nice time of the year with spring bulbs blooming as well as the apple trees and chokecherry bushes.  Finally the leaves are out in full force and the grass is green and needs cutting - again!

Seeding has been going well.  The flax, wheat and canola are in with just soybeans left.  A few good days should see completion.

Clare took Wed. evening off and went to Weyburn to the drama that Abbey took part in at St. Michael's school.  I went up in the afternoon as I also wanted to do some shopping.  I enjoyed their production very much, a new version of Robin Hood.  A lot of time and effort went into this drama that was about an hour and a half long.  The gym was filled with 500 students plus visitors.  Sound effects were controlled by computer and added a lot.  It was very well done with some long parts memorized for the main characters.

Judy had the next picture on Facebook so I "borrowed" it for this post.  The beautiful pink blossoms are in their yard in Frontier.  Alan and Judy had an RTM put on the lot where Grandma and Grandpa Haaland had their home in Frontier.  That house was damaged several years ago when water pipes froze and flooded the place.  The house was eventually torn down.  It is special that a grandson now lives there among some of the trees that the Haalands planted.  Grandma loved flowers and Judy has lots of those on the deck.  Alan and Judy spend a lot of time on their deck watching the many yellow finches at the feeders.

Today is my morning at Torquay library.  There is no playschool today as it's track and field at Oungre School.  I did some sorting to make room for more books that have been donated.

Clare sent a picture of the cast of "Robin Hood" so I'll post it here.
Abbey is fourth from the right side, one of Robin Hood's "men", but all he could muster up was girls!

I got some potatoes and onions planted yesterday and have tomatoes to transplant out when I get the ground ready for them.  I plant each one in an old tire and that seems to work well.

It's my turn to make lunch and supper for the guys tomorrow.  I have buns on the go so better go and get them on the pans.  I'll try and get back on schedule with a post on Sunday!
