It's not every day that you see a grain bin coming down the road behind a pickup. It's a good thing Clare gave me a call so I could be out at the gate to take a picture before he went by.
It's not every day that you see a combine with a Norsk flag on it either. Well, we didn't actually see it but a friend of Clare's sent him this picture taken near Outlook. (I wonder if it was a Norwegian "flag day" as their flag it to be flown on certain days!)
I don't have an update on the 10th anniversary celebration weekend, but I can tell you that Todd and Kristy went to Trondheim. It's the third largest city in Norway with a population of around 170,000. Kristy didn't know where they were going when I Facetimed them shortly after they dropped Nora off at Gunn's on Friday afternoon. It's great that Nora has a Norsk bestemor when her Canadian grandmas are so far away. Tusen takk, Gunn! I'll give you an update in the morning.
Combining is finished on the land that Clare rents out west and all the outfits got moved home today. We'll all appreciate having the harvesters closer to home. They hope to start on flax tomorrow.
It was a busy Sunday morning for me as it was my turn to play for service along with Vickie, my turn to read the lessons and my turn to serve for our coffee fellowship! Next Sunday it's my turn to help with Sunday School, our first session. Thanks to Cindy for setting up a program for us.
Jeff, my boarder who works at Torquay border, arrived back on Friday afternoon from his four weeks of training in Quebec. He didn't have to be at work until tomorrow but he found some jobs to do around here - cut the grass and did some trimming of tree branches this afternoon. It's great to get these odd jobs done. We might even tackle work on the north side of the house this week! He didn't get a very nice welcome back when he went to get his car at the port. A family of mice had moved in! He has trapped two so far and they left a smelly mess in the trunk.
Clare just came home from watching the recorded Rider game at Jason's. He said both he and Jason slept through most of it! It was an exciting end but the Riders just couldn't pull off a win today either.
Well, it's bedtime for me too so I'll sign off for now. See you in October!

Just dropped by to see how things are going in Saskatchewan. I enjoyed seeing the picture of the grain bin coming down the road. You are right, we don't see that in Kent, Ohio. We have not had a hard frost in Ohio yet, but the nights are cool and the tomatoes did not fare well this year because of the rainy, cool summer. The apples are abundant though. Have a great week and happy fall.
