The first connection for the Ledene/Johnson family was at LCBI graduation in May 1995. This picture shows Todd on stage after getting his diploma. Little did he know that the family sitting in the front row on this picture would one day be his in-laws! Jolene Ledene from Brooks, AB, also graduated that day. Her parents, Helga, in the red dress, and Dan are seated at the right. Grandma Wanda, in purple, and Grandpa Mike are seated to their left. We never met them that day and were unaware who this family was until we put together a slide show for Todd and Kristy's wedding eight years later!
Todd and Kristy met on the last day of a training session for Lutheran Bible Camp staff in Alberta. They were working at different camps but all trained together. Todd came in a little late for the evening session and the only place to sit was in the front row beside Kristy. She took one look at his sandy feet and her first comment was "Nice feet!" After the session they got acquainted and found out that Kristy's sister Jolene had been in Todd's class at LCBI, Outlook. That was the starting point to their conversation and they have been talking ever since!

| Engaged! |
They were engaged in May of 2003 and four months later were married in Salem Lutheran Church at Scandia, Alberta. Four days later they flew to Kristiansund "for a year or two". Ten years later it is home, and complete with the arrival of Nora Josephine Johnson on September 7, 2012. If I had the computer know how that Todd and Kristy have, I could put together a presentation of their past ten years. I think it would even be quite a challenge for them to do this with all the "adventures" they have had since saying "I do" in 2003.
You have crossed the ocean numerous times, travelled to many countries, opened your home to many family and friends, learned to speak Norsk, taken part in choirs and dramas, are active in your
Lutheran congregation, made many dear friends in Norway, have been "tour guides" for many of us who came to visit and the list goes on and on. Oh yes, you both work full time for two different oil companies after starting out with Todd playing professional volleyball!
We're so glad God brought you together! Our lives have been so enriched by yours and we look forward to many more years of happy anniversaries for the two of you. I'll update on Sunday on how you celebrated your tenth. I don't think you'll be spending this one in a lighthouse as you've already done that!

Thanks for the tribute. You tell it better than I could. We have done a lot that is for certain! We did celebrate one anniversary in Canada. On a plane to Canada with the vball team. We landed in Vancouver said goodbye and went on to two different host cities. That was the wierdest anniversary I think. Last year my parents arrived and Todd was away at a course. One year it was in a Lighthouse. One year we ran a 10 km race....Precious memories.
