Since this is post number 400, I will share some statistics about my blog. I started blogging on February 11, 2010, the day after my 68th birthday. That means that I have kept this up for three and a half years. I'm doing much better at blogging than I ever did at keeping a diary! I guess it helps to have readers who hold me accountable. The diary was a different story! I was quite upset if my younger brother had been reading that book.
Statistics are kept about blogs so here are the latest on "mrshojo"

Comments 106
I would like to see more comments! 106 in three and a half years isn't many. I do enjoy hearing from readers and am often surprised to find out just who is reading my blog. Maybe I should offer a prize to a reader who makes a comment, put all the names in a hat and draw one out. I'll think about that! I could offer flatbread, if you are close enough to deliver it. Or ginger cookies that travel much better.
Today is a special day for my youngest grandchild. Nora is eleven months old today! Where did those baby days go? Soon it will be time to get a birthday present off to her. Todd is back at work, just for this week, as Swire couldn't find staff to take his place for all twelve weeks of his parenting leave. An aunt and uncle of Kristy's, her godparents in fact, will be visiting them later this month.
Clare's joined Kirk's at Clear Lake on Tuesday. They will all be staying until Sunday when it's "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's back to work we go".
I spent this afternoon at Mainprize Manor in Midale where "Homespun Harmonies,"our accordion group, entertained at the monthly birthday party. Ella, our piano player, is away so I brought Vi Sabin along. She did a great job of accompanying Eileen, JoAnn and I on accordions. Susie stopped in on their way to BC. They will be visiting family in Alberta before continuing on to connect with friends they have met in Mesa. Safe travels and a wonderful holiday Susie and Ray!
I'm done with the peaches, except for the ones I've saved in the fridge to eat. I made up a few pies yesterday. Now I'll have to start on the apples. With the hot summer last year, the apples were over ripe when Sandra and I got back from Norway so I am all out of apple sauce.
Speaking of Norway, a year ago Sandra and I were spending our last night overseas in a hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. We flew home on August 8 after a most wonderful sister trip. The following weekend we had a mini Johnson family reunion here at the farm with the annual service at Salem Lutheran Church on that Sunday. This year the service will be a week later, on August 18th at 10:30. All are welcome to join us. Bring a picnic lunch to have as we spend time visiting after the service.
Thanks to all the faithful readers of my blog. I know who some of you are, but some of you are a mystery, especially the ones in Russia, Slovenia and a few other countries. If you want to introduce yourselves, you can email me at hejohnson@xplornet.ca I would love to hear from you!

WOW, 400 blogs, that is quite an accomplishment!! Keep it up, I sure enjoy them and watch for a new one Wed and Sunday. I looked at our Copenhagen pictures tonight, fun to remember out great trip.
ReplyDeleteYou win the prize for the first comment! Yes, I've been looking back too. Wish we could live it all over again and I wouldn't change anything!
ReplyDeleteI must be the one you are talking about with holding you accountable. My week just isn't the same when I don't get my regular two posts. I especially like your tributes to the past and when you surprise us of pictures or stories or memories we haven't heard before. Keep it up. You are an amazing writer!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep up your wonderful blog mom. I was trying to find the story you wrote about all the writing you did as a girl and how it paid off in Teacher's College, am I right there? Anyways I enjoyed learning that! Congratulations on 400 posts, your writing inspires us all.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine. I also look forward to the Sunday and Wednesday posts!
