BACK TO SCHOOL

Back to school for Kirk, Laurel, Todd and Clare
(only one of them looks happy about it!)
I'm sure that back to school brings back memories for most of us, either our own experiences, or that of our children and now our grandchildren.  All seven grandkids are off to school this week.  Three of them, Dawson, Abbey and Carter are going into grade six, Eric to grade four, Lindsay to grade three, Jamie to kindergarten and Ashley to play dschool.  I'm sure they will all have their pictures taken so I'll finish this off on Wednesday as that's the day that Ashley starts.  Her school will be Monday and Wednesday mornings.  Jamie goes every other day.

I had a dentist appointment this morning at ten.   A front tooth needed a filling and a root canal so I wasn't really looking forward to that.  But I do want to keep my own teeth for as long as I can so that is the choice I faced.  I was scheduled to have it done last week but changed the appointment as I had four grandchildren staying with me and didn't know if I'd be very good company after that procedure!  But I needn't have worried.  It was a painless procedure.  I didn't even feel the needles go in!  I should have had a picture of me sitting there wearing safety goggles and blue rubber stretched across my mouth!  The best part was the new dental chair with a vibrator in the back!  I was very impressed with Dr. Daniel Crooks work! When the freezing came out, I wouldn't have known that anything was done in my mouth, except that I missed the hole that has been between two of my teeth.  I just need to go back to get my teeth cleaned and that's it for dental work for awhile.  The only painful part was the bill!  But he had given me an estimate a few weeks ago so I was prepared for that.

I visited Aunt Viola in the afternoon, got a few groceries and some supplies for Christmas Child boxes. Then I picked up KFC and took it to the field over east on my way home.

We have been really enjoying a feast of "Peaches and Cream" corn thanks to Lorne and Charlene Hanson's crop of it.  Lorne planted field corn this spring and also got some seed from Taber, AB to plant for eating.  Michael has been busy picking and delivering corn.  Yesterday I froze 48 cobs, most of it cut off the cob, so I can keep enjoying it.

Now I better add the first day of school pictures and then it will be bedtime.

Abbey is having a very busy week.  Yesterday was back to school and today she had her birthday party as she is turning 11 on Friday.  (Will the new Johnson baby arrive on her birthday? We will find out soon!)

to go to a new school, where Jodi teaches grade nine

That covers all seven grandkids and their first day of school for the 2012 - 2013 school year.  Grandma wishes you each a wonderful year.  I wish I could be a little mouse in the corner and visit your rooms. I love you lots!
