On March 5, 1998 Draven Alan Thomas Erickson was born. With this arrival, Devan and Michelle became parents and Alan and Judy became grandparents. Draven was also the first great grandchild in the Milford and Hulda Erickson family. Sadly, Mom and Dad did not live to see any of the twenty-six grandchildren who have arrived to bless this family.

Draven is the eldest of these twenty-five Erickson great grandchildren.
He is the one wearing a green shirt in the back row. |
And now Draven is a teenager! We really enjoyed having a visit from him last month when he made the trip to Weyburn with Alan and Judy. He kept his cousin Kelsey company during the skating competition that Madison and Macey took part in. We had them over for a couple meals and were very impressed with these well behaved boys. They helped clear snow off Clare and Jodi's trailer roof as well as our walks. I have a picture of them as we celebrated Kelsey's birthday with a DQ cake. Tanya and Jody had just returned from a week in Mexico so Tanya is sporting a nice tan.

Draven spent his first years in Frontier. The family then moved to Redcliff, AB and last fall relocated to Shaunavon, SK. According to the family Christmas letter, Draven's winter passion is snowboarding. He took his hunter and firearm safety last fall and is looking forward to hunting with his dad. He played volleyball in Redcliff and looks forward to playing again this fall in Shaunavon. He stays on the honor roll at school and loves history. We look forward to seeing you again at the Cypress reunion, Draven!
My dad, Milford Erickson, was born on March 6, 1907 in Glenwood, Minnesota. Draven almost arrived on his great grandfather's birthday, just missing it by a day. So I am thinking of my dad today. We are heading to the curling rink to watch Clare's team attempt to win the C event of the Farmer's Bonspiel. It's a fitting thing to do to remember Dad, as he loved to curl too. See you later!
