Happy Birthday, Kelsey!

We are looking forward to having Alan and Judy, Jody and Tanya with Kelsey, Madison and Macey here for supper.  They are coming for Weyburn's First CanSkate Festival which is taking place tomorrow, Saturday, February 5. Madison and Macey have been busy practising for this event.  We hope the weather and roads are good for travellers this afternoon.  The temperature is up to zero but it's windy with the word "RAIN" in the forecast.  Such is winter in SK, from minus 35 to above zero in a couple of days.

Kelsey Lee Edward Howell was born on February 4, 1999 at Saskatoon, SK.  Dr .Lorne Hanson, formerly of Frontier and a classmate of mine, delivered him.

Here is Kelsey, along with his sisters Madison and Macey, helping Grandpa Alan celebrate his birthday. Kelsey enjoys spending time with both his Grandpa's, Alan and George.

When we celebrated our 40th anniversary at the Swantz cabin at Lake Five, we were thrilled to have Tanya, Kelsey, Madison and Macey join us.  They drove to Havre, MT and took the Amtrak to West Glacier, just a few miles from Lake Five.  We did some sight seeing and also went on a boat ride on Lake McDonald.  Kelsey even caught some fish off the dock at Lake Five.

The weather was hot so the kids had great fun in the water.  The lake is shallow for quite a ways out so quite a safe place to play (with adults always keeping an eye on them!)

The Dairy Queen here in Weyburn had a customer appreciation day a couple weeks ago.  Everything in the store was half price.  Since the freezer here had lots of room, I stocked up on cakes.  We'll be having one for dessert tonight in honour of Kelsey's 12th birthday.  I hope to add some recent pictures of Kelsey too.

Alan and Judy have arrived in town so the Howells should be along shortly. They are staying at the Ramada so the kids will have fun on the waterslides.  We are looking forward to a fun evening.  Jodi and Abbey will join us for supper but Clare is on his way to Las Vegas with the Stepp orchestra.  The Melody Kings are playing at the Orleans hotel on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
