Friday night - Date Night!

I'm sure that Howard is unaware of Flylady's suggestion that Friday night should be date night for couples. But tonight he suggested that we go out for supper so who was I to turn that down!  I was hungry for Chinese food so we went to the Club Cafe.  He didn't think it was as good as the Chinese food that he is used to having but we'll do better at ordering next time.  He did get his favourite which is chicken balls.  It was a cosy place to eat and we couldn't get over the number of take out orders that went out while we were there.  We'll definitely go back again!

I must add the info that we found in our fortune cookies.  Mine said, "You are capable of building a thriving business venture".  Hmm. What should it be?  Perhaps flatbread, ginger cookies, multi-grain bread or ?  Howard's read "Now is a good time to explore."  That sounds like more fun than a business venture so maybe we'll go for that one.  We'll let you know where and when we are going to start exploring!

Do you remember where you were 25 years ago today when the Challenger exploded?  I was teaching at Torquay School and was in the staff room when Evelyn Sankey came in and told us about the tragedy.  We were soon gathered around a TV and saw the scene replayed on every channel over the next few days.  Thousands of school children watched it live as a teacher was on board to give lessons from space.  We can never take safe space travel for granted, or any travel for that matter whether it be in the air or on the highway.

It was a noisy morning outside this house as a semi with a picker came up our driveway at 8 this morning and began to steam the snow and ice buildup off the roof.  There has been water leaking though the den and kitchen ceilings since the weather warmed up and the owner decided that the only way to stop it was to get rid of the ice and snow.  It worked as there is no more dripping tonight and we can put the drip pans away, at least until it snows many inches again!  I took a picture of the procedure but then realized that the cord that connects my camera to the computer is at the farm.

Clare, Jodi and Abbey are in Regina so the house next door is dark tonight.  They'll do some shopping tomorrow and be back later in the day.  The forecast is for a cold, windy day so not the best weekend for this trip.

We walked to the Co-op this afternoon and stocked up on groceries for the weekend so we won't have to go out tomorrow.  I'll have to get busy and tie another quilt.  Maybe I'll get up early and do that while I listen to Grass Roots Gold on 660 from Williston, ND.  How about joining me at 8 am?
