The past week was a busy one with the Tournament of Hearts on TV every day. The curling was great with several new teams making it to this competition for the first time. Several games went right down to the last rock to determine the outcome. Alberta's skip came through against N. Ontario and made a perfect draw. They will will now wear the Team Canada jackets for the next year and will compete in the Women's World Curling taking place in Swift Current in March. I was happy with Alberta's win as one of the players, Jocelyn Peterman, has Torquay connections. Her Peterman grandparents, Lyle and Agnes (Fonstad) grew up in this area. The Fonstads were close neighbours of the Johnsons. When Kirk attended Olds College he stayed at the home of Aggie and Lyle.
Today was quilting day once again. We are short of quilt tops after today so we'll need to do some sewing if we are to reach 100 quilts done by the end of this month!
| Lindsay is 12! |
Granddaughter Lindsay turned twelve years old last Friday. We went to Lampman on Saturday to help her celebrate. She took part in a school curling bonspiel that day so it was fun to watch that. In the last game three dads and a teacher took on Lindsay's team and the "old geesors" got beat 3-1. They surprised the kids by showing up in costume to add to the fun. Thanks to generous merchants and parents, each curler went home with a bag of goodies to end the day.
Somehow a paragraph got deleted so I'll add it on Tues. evening! Kirk, Shauna and family spent the week of school break in Alberta visiting family and friends. They also took in a Flames game in Calgary and an Oilers one in Edmonton. Here are some pictures of their holiday week:

| "Cousins" visit at Lacombe |

Well, it's soon supper time so I better finish this off and get the table set. See you next week!
Tomorrow is Ashley's 8th birthday and Eric becomes a teenager on the 8th! We'll celebrate with both of them whenever it works out.
