Birthdays!

in loving memory of Dad,
Milford Clayton Erickson
March 6, 1907 - September 2, 1987
(with Elaine on his 40th birthday)
The first week in March is full of family birthdays! Ashley was 8 on March 2,(which was also Kristy's Grandma Wanda's), Draven Erickson turned 18 on the 5th, my dad's birthday was on March 6, Nancy Lutz's birthday was yesterday, March 7 and Eric became a teenager today, March 8.
Ashley was happy with her new quilt from Grandma J
and especially the cosy soft backing!
We didn't get to celebrate with Dawson back in January so we had a three way party last Friday. Alan and I drove to Weyburn, had an early supper at Joey's Only and then went to watch Abbey's basketball game at St. Michael School at 5:30. Abbey's home team won against the girls from Weyburn Jr. High and then we were off to Milestone for birthday cake and pumpkin pie with Dawson who is 15, Ashley who turned 8, and Eric who is 13 today! Here's a picture of all three.
Waiting for birthday treats!

Here's another picture of Eric taken this morning after Ashley celebrated his 13th birthday with a cream pie in his face!  He had his face and hair washed by picture time.
The new teenager in the family

Last Saturday was a beautiful day with a high of plus16ยบ C! We left Laurel and Greg's after lunch and made it to Abbey's second game at 1:30.  It was almost too nice to spend the day inside!  We enjoyed visiting with Gerry Guitheil and his wife Carole as their daughter Claire Fingler is Abbey's basketball coach.  Their team has only lost one game all season and won that game too against Estevan Elecs girls.  Good coaching, Carole and good team work girls!

We watched a Brier curling game with Clare, Jodi and Abbey, got some groceries and then headed for home.  We went south of Weyburn until the Ashworth corner just two miles north of the US border, turned east and took that road for thirteen miles which took us just 1/2 mile south of our farm.  It's a much better road than #18 highway from Oungre to Torquay and way better than #350 south of Torquay!  That one is nothing but terrible!

On Monday we had a record turnout for quilting with ten ladies present!  It looks like we will make our goal of 100 quilts again this year!  Some of them are small ones but they are needed too.

Last Monday several members of the Torquay Quilting Guild stopped by for a visit.  Thanks for sharing your visit with pictures and a writeup on your blog, Christa!  It's good to share ideas. (Take a look at her blog on the list that I follow, Second Storey Quilting).

That's about it for tonight.  Kirk and Shauna will be back from Las Vegas tomorrow so I may have pictures from them next week, also some hockey pictures of the grandsons.  Bye for now!
