We left Torquay on Thursday after library duty during play school. After lunch at A&W in Weyburn we were off to Gull Lake, our favourite "bed and breakfast" at Cam and Donna (Alan's sister) Lock's. We left right after breakfast on Friday so we could get to Medicine Hat Arena where Nola Conrad, Sandra and Merle's granddaughter, was playing in a ringette tournament with Lacombe's 12 and under team. Nola will be ten in May but had no trouble keeping up with the older girls. We got to see her score a goal and help the team win their first game. ( They went undefeated and won the provincial gold medal on Sunday afternoon!)Here we are with Nola after the game.
Then we were off to Calgary and arrived at Nancy's before rush hour. We were treated to a lovely smoked pork supper with Trevor in charge of the grill.
On Saturday we met Alan's son Derek and family at Houston Pizza. We had a good visit with them and then went to Devonian Gardens with Nancy, Trevor, Bram and Holly. Bram is officially a new driver, having passed his driver's test last month. Quite a challenge to do that in Calgary's traffic! He impressed us with his driving skills when he drove us back to the house from downtown Calgary.

A family event took place on March 12 in Edmonton when Don Vinge's son Peder and Nalelly were wed. Peder and Nalelly, who is from Mexico, met in Beijing where they were both teaching. They are now making their home in Edmonton where Peder will be working on his M.Ed. Congratulations to this happy couple!
We are having Easter dinner tomorrow but it looks like Kirk's are the only family around. Clare's are in Winnipeg and Laurel's went to Minot yesterday so we will be a small group with a big turkey. It will come in handy to have cooked turkey in the freezer when seeding time rolls around.
Some areas of SK had snow this past week but we just had a dusting. We were concerned about icy roads when we came home last Tuesday but #13 was good to Weyburn and there was no ice on #39 either. We came south of Oungre to the Ashworth turnoff and avoided the so called highway south of Torquay!
Wishing you a blessed Easter with family and friends. Our sunrise service will be long past sunrise, at nine o'clock our regular service time. It will be followed by our traditional breakfast of hardboiled eggs with cinnamon rolls. Come and join us as we celebrate this Resurrection Day of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
