PALM SUNDAY

Trinity marked the day with the usual palm branches to start the morning worship service along with the traditional Palm Sunday hymn, "All Glory, Laud and Honor". We also used a favourite hymn from the Concordia, "Ride On, Ride On, O Savior King".  My copy of this book dates back to 1956-57 when it was awarded to me from Bethel Lutheran Sunday School for perfect attendance.  I remember my dad saying that he should have been the one getting an award for getting us to Sunday School every Sunday through all kinds of roads and weather.  I think of him every time I see this book with my name engraved on it.

We have a potluck dinner the last Sunday of the month.  When I walked into the auditorium I noticed a cake with a card beside it.  I went over to sign the card and then saw our names written on the cake!  It was a lovely surprise from the congregation - a special wedding card along with a generous gift of money and the cake.  Thank you to our church family for this caring gift.

That was the second surprise gift of the week.  When we visited Vivian Vinge on Friday she sent us home with a beautiful afghan that she had knit.  It's made almost like a quilt, in blocks with each one in a different pattern.  Here's a picture of us enjoying it.

This week also marked the end of hockey season for two grandchildren.  Carter's team, Lampman/Arcola Combines, won the trophy in the Bantam league. It marked Carter's second game after recovering from his seizure attacks.  Way to go Carter and team!  Eric's Milestone Flyers also won the Atom league trophy with a win over an Estevan team on Thursday evening.  Here are pictures from those events.

Todd, Kristy and Nora are spending part of this week in Copenhagen.  Nora will also spend a few days with "Grandma Gunn" in Kristiansund during this Easter break.

We are looking forward to having Laurel's, Clare's and Kirk's here over the Easter weekend.  We are hoping to visit Alan's family later next month.

Wishing you a blessed Easter season with family and friends.
