This past week was a busy one. We went to Bienfait on Tuesday morning as Lindsay was playing her flute in the beginner band from Lampman. They got a mark of 84 from the adjudicator for the music festival. On Wednesday she played in a duet and a trio and did very well there too.
Kirk and Shauna took Carter to an appointment in Regina on Tuesday. The neurologist said that the MRI showed nothing abnormal and gave Carter the okay to resume playing hockey. He was back on the ice on Wednesday and played hard with no ill effects. That was such great news!
On Thursday we spent the morning at Torquay Library, then went home and did some more unpacking.
The annual convention for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren was held in Estevan this past weekend. I drove in on Sat. morning and then drove back to Torquay accompanied by Ruth Vallevik from Billings, MT who is the director of Women's Ministry and Jean Wilsdon from Calgary who is the president of the Canadian region. They were quite impressed with our display of quilts and baby afghans on the church pews. On Tuesday we hope to reach our goal of100 quilts made this winter. We meet every Tuesday from January to the end of March.
After the visit to Torquay we went back to Estevan for a women's luncheon with talks by Ruth and Jean followed by two business sessions. I didn't stay for the evening session and we didn't get back to Estevan today for the morning worship service. I enjoyed a visit with Dean Rostad, a pastor in Camrose, AB. His mother, Blanche (Pederson), is Howard's first cousin.
Ashley took part in a ballet competition in Ogama on Saturday afternoon. Here are the three girls in "Under the Sea".
Nora has been busy with her Lego blocks building a grain terminal. When she plays she chatters away in Norwegian.
I got a fun picture from Ernie and Myrna in Yuma. They spotted this Montana license plate and shared it with me. They are packing to head back to Boise this week.
Well, that's my update for this week. Tomorrow is Kirk's birthday so have a very Happy 43rd Birthday, Kirk. We'll check the mail in Ambrose to see if your gift from Shauna is there!
