| Mr. and Mrs. Newlywed! |
On Thursday Alan got an unexpected package in the mail. When we opened it we found two t-shirts from his daughter. We wore them on our "anniversary" and also to church on Sunday so I'll add a picture of Mr. Newlywed and Mrs. Newlywed - such a fun gift, with a special wish "May you always remain Newlyweds in your hearts." Thanks, Nancy! It led to an interesting conversation when I was getting my teeth cleaned this morning. Alan and I were reunited after being friends on Facebook. Shelley said her aunt married a childhood friend after they met on Facebook so it is becoming another match-making site!
Saturday, March 14 marked our one month wedding anniversary. We celebrated by going out for supper at Houston Pizza in Estevan. We also took in Eric's hockey league playoff game in the afternoon. They won this game, the second in this series, so will move on to play either Radville or another Estevan team. We got in a quick visit with Laurel's as they were all at the game, then left for an overnight stay in Minot.
On Sunday we left for Estevan after church, had lunch at A & W and then had a good visit with Gen and Gordon Kvammen at Trinity Tower. Then we went on to Lampman to visit Kirk's. We enjoyed a BBQ supper and saw pictures of their time at Palm Springs and the Ducks game in Anaheim. We made it an overnight stay as I had a dental appointment in Estevan this morning at 9:30.
Now we are back home and working on rearranging things to make room for Alan's bedroom suite in the Norwegian room. The desk went to my sewing area and a small dresser will be donated to Faith Lutheran's garage sale in Estevan on April 17-18.
That reminds me, the date has been set for Trinity's 100th anniversary celebration. It will be on the afternoon of Sunday, June 28. Souvenirs are being ordered - key chains and Christmas ornaments with a picture of the church.
Trinity, Torquay is also having a steak supper and music night on April 18. Entertainment starts at 4:00 pm with the supper at 6:00 pm. Adults $20, Students 6-12: $10, Preschool free. I have ten tickets for sale so call 923-4427 if you are interested.
We recieved a special wedding card in the mail from Glenn and Margaret Stenson from Kitamat, BC. It was special because Glenn is Alan's first cousin and my second cousin! Glenn's mother, Velma (Dolly) was a sister to Alan's dad, Walter Lutz. Glenn's dad, Norris Stenson, was a cousin to my dad, Milford Erickson. I met Glenn's daughter, Marla, at an ELW meeting in Redvers several years ago. Marla's husband, Greg Keil, is the pastor at St. Olaf's Lutheran Church in Swift Current. We will stop and visit them the next time we head out west.
There was light snow last night, quite a contrast to the plus 18 or so temperatures on Sunday. I guess spring isn't here quite yet. The only snow left here is in the trees but there were still small banks to be seen in Lampman area as they had more snow this past winter and more is to be found as you head north.
Tomorrow morning we are going to Bienfait as Lindsay is playing her flute with the Lampman band at the music festival. Carter has an appointment with a neurologist in Regina tomorrow so Shauna won't be able to go to the festival. Carter is doing well after his medication was changed when he broke out in a rash. He has had no seizures since leaving California.
It's also quilting day tomorrow so I will miss part of the day. We just have two days left so might not make the goal of 100 quilts this year. We are so thankful to two former residents of Torquay for sewing many quilt tops for us and to all who have donates material for quilts. We buy rolls of batting for filling but material for tops and backing is all donated. We even get material from Frontier, thanks to Sandra's collecting for us.
I must get back to decluttering so this is all for today. I hope to have more pictures next week.
LOVE the shirts, can't wait to see you newlyweds!! Have more fabric and stuff for the layettes for you again.
