I'm not superstitious so this is just another Friday, albeit a rainy one. The forecast hit it right and the next few days might bring showers and cooler days.
Today was Todd's last day of work at Swire in Kristiansund where he has worked for the past five years. In August he starts a new job teaching volleyball skills at a Christian folk school in Førde, Norway. It is south of Kristiansund, closer to Bergen and not right on the coast but a ways inland. I look forward to visiting them in their new city!
Nora has a spot at the Barnehage in Førde so will continue in her Norsk immersion. They will be flying to Edmonton in just two weeks and we'll be seeing them at Cypress Park a month from tomorrow!
There was a huge crowd at the service for Nina Martinson on Monday in Midale. Three of her four sisters were able to attend. Here's a picture of them and a sister-in-law after the service. Ethel Hanson of Kelowna and brother Olaf of Camrose were unable to be there.

I did some gardening at Salem flower bed and took a picture of the new view to the south - the site of a future oil well about half a mile from the church. That's the Johnson farm in the background. Our annual Sunday service will take place on August 10 at 10:30 so you will have a chance to see the new view then.
Every Thursday morning I volunteer at the Torquay Community Library and also read a story to the play school group that meets in the adjoining room. They had a little "grad" for the four students who will be moving on to kindergarten in the fall. Cindy Daae presented me with a thank you picture card so I'll share it with you. I enjoy these mornings, back at "school" again with these two to four year olds.
I made a round trip to Estevan today, going down to Crosby and then up through the Noonan port of entry. Rain was threatening but none here since last night. It was a cool day and I turned my electric fire place on this evening. Then I curled up with a blanket and my iPad and played some Scrabble games and read some more of "Angel Sister".
There's a slow pitch tournament scheduled for Torquay this weekend. The grass has all been trimmed so the ball diamonds look in great shape. Now if the rain and wind stay away it will be great!
Abbey is playing ball in Moose Jaw so they are camping there this weekend. There are lots of things to do in MJ if the ball games get rained out!
Have a great weekend and Happy Fathers Day to the dads and grandpas out there.
