Storm Warning

Monday morning update: The snow is still falling and the north wind blowing so no travelling on most SE Saskatchewan roads today. Ambrose now has a blizzard warning until 9 pm.  Crosby ND reports 6 inches of snow and three foot drifts. The poor pheasants will have a hard time finding any food today.

I think this would be a good baking day!  I have ginger cookies chilled in the fridge and flatbread mix ready to go so those will be my morning projects.  I have quilt blocks sewed together in rows and pressed so I'll finish that job this afternoon (along with some games with my Scrabble pals!)  Have a good snow day!

Sunday evening:
I pay more attention to the forecast for Ambrose, ND than I do for Estevan.  Ambrose has been forecasting a storm for a couple days, with a winter storm warning from noon today until 6:00 on Tuesday morning.  I thought I'd be safe going to church this morning and I certainly was as the storm is just moving into this area tonight and it's after 10 pm.  It's been to the north and west of us most of the day.  Dawson had a hockey game at 1:00 in Moose Jaw.  He and Greg made it safely home before the winds increased.  Number one highway is closed east of Swift Current and much of the twinned highway from Regina to Saskatoon is also closed.  It's a good night to be at home.

There was lots to watch on TV today.  The Telemiracle fundraiser was on CTV Regina since 9:00 last night and ended at five this afternoon with over $5 million dollars raised to help people with special needs in Saskatchewan.  The mens Brier is on TSN from Edmonton.  That's where Clare is this weekend until Wed. Tonight was the first broadcast in "The Bible" series on the History Channel.   I watched most of it but look forward to seeing it again on PVR and skipping the commercials.  I also ordered a DVD that will be out after the last episode has been shown on TV on March 31, Easter Sunday.

That reminds me -  I booked tickets for Laurel and me to spend Easter with Todd, Kristy and Nora in Kristiansund, Norway!!  We leave Regina on Tuesday, March 26 and will return on Friday, April 5.  Here's a picture of Nora who just got her papers to prove that she is a Canadian citizen, even though she was born in Norway!  They were celebrating "Canada's newest citizen" today.

Yesterday was Ashley Laura Diekrager's fifth birthday.  She celebrated at the rink as Greg and Laurel were working in the booth and Dawson had a game.  She has a new princess dress and a princess doll but was disappointed that she didn't get the pony that she had seen in a Regina store!

Not much of a storm here yet so I'll sign off for tonight and update this in the morning with a picture or two of "the storm".
