St. Patrick's Day

Monday morning update:
I walked out to the road this morning to see how deep the snow was - much too deep for my Escape to plow through!  I heard something working on the road but it didn't sound like the RM graders.  Soon a tractor with a bucket drove by heading south.  I walked back to the house and soon the tractor was busy moving the snow in my driveway and right up to the garage!  Thanks for "rescuing" me, Daniel!  Now I won't miss quilting tomorrow and I might even venture down to Ambrose for the mail this afternoon.

Kirk is off on a mystery trip.  His flight was at 6:00 this morning and he made it safely to Regina yesterday afternoon.  He phoned Shauna from the Calgary airport - on their way to Mexico!  Working for Precision Ag has some nice perks!

"I had so much fun!"
I woke up to wind and drifting snow with storm warnings for today into tomorrow.  That convinced me to stay home and not drive to Torquay for morning service.  I listened to "Sing for Joy" and the Lutheran Hour on Williston radio and watched a couple services on TV.  The going might have been okay this morning but the rest of the day brought more snow and tonight the wind is up.  I'll be curious to see what the yard looks like come morning.  We changed our quilting days from Monday to Tuesday this year and it's a good thing as the last three Mondays have all been stormy or else the roads weren't good, if you could get out of the yard!

I did some bookwork in the morning at Clare's on Thursday as I don't have that accounting program on my iMac.  My Dr. appointment was good in the afternoon, blood pressure normal and I had no aches or pains to report.  I got my prescriptions filled so I'm good for another three months.

The sun was shining, the snow had stopped and the roads were good so I headed for the Diekrager farm north-east of Milestone.  The east/west road to their place was one track down the middle so I was thankful not to meet another vehicle.  After today's snow, it'd be tough to find the road as the ditches were full already.

It was a fun evening at Ashley's first skating carnival.  The program was "Milestone Grammy's" with individuals and groups skating to various pop singers tunes with costurmes to match.  Ashley's beginning group were Muppets skating to "Mah Na Mah Na".  Here are some more pictures.

some creative decorating!)
There were many tables set up in the waiting room with prizes that had been donated.  Tickets were 10 for $10.  Laurel and I got twenty.  I wrote my name on ten and deposited them in the bags of items I would like to win.  Laurel was busy getting Ashley ready so I wrote her name on hers and popped them in the bags I thought she'd like to wind.  I just had two left when she came out of the dressing room.  They announced the winners between skating items and Laurel's name was one of them.  It turned out she won four items while her mother got none!  She felt sorry for me and sent me home with a pedicure bag of three special O-P-I polishes.  I'll have pretty toes to take to Norway!

We had birthday cake when we got home as I had missed both Ashley and Eric's March birthdays.  Greg, Dawson and Eric missed Ashley's program as they were in Regina for hockey.  Jodi sent out birthday bags for the birthday kids so here they are modelling their gifts.

A belated Happy 10th Birthday, Eric.

Ready for bed in her new "Brave" nightie.

After breakfast and a movie with Ashley, I headed for the farm while the sun was shining, roads were clear and no wind!  I stopped in Weyburn for a few groceries so I'd be all set for the coming storm!
And now I'm ready for bed, the wind is still blowing but I think the snow has let up as I can see Daniel's lights.  I'll give you a yard report in the morning!  Have a good week!

I didn't do much celebrating of St. Patrick's Day but I did wear a green sweatshirt in honour of the day. I know of two birthday people today so Happy Birthday to Marion's dad, Allan Corcoran in Swift Current, and Jeremy Halvorson in Medicine Hat.
