WEDNESDAY WORDS 3

Petunias still blooming on October 18

I have a whole week to catch up on, but I'll start with yesterday.  Abbey came out with Clare in the morning as she didn't have school on Monday and Tuesday.  She went with him "over east" where he was working down the growth of weeds and volunteer plants that grew on the land that never got seeded last spring.  Here's a picture of the new disc that he and two other farmers have bought together.  Clare got to use it first!

I picked Abbey up about two o'clock and we drove over to Hurren's to see Don and Paula's new baby boy, Noah Robert Lloyd.  He was overdue by ten days or so and was delivered via C-section.  He weighed 11 pounds, 15 ounces and was 24 inches long.  He's off to a good start!  Abbey enjoyed cuddling him so here are a couple of pictures of her and Noah.  He has two adoring sisters and two brothers.

This is going to be a short blog as I am off to Estevan this morning.  I'll add more later today.

Well, I'm back after a good day in Estevan.  I got the keys to the house where I'll be spending most of the next six months.  Then I went to visit Howard.  Kirk came over after his dental appointment and filled us in on his recent trip to the east coast of the US.  One of the highlights was attending an NFL game between Philadelphia and Washington with 90,000 fans present.  The weather was perfect for the game and for touring many historic sites in the US capital.

In the afternoon I treated the Escape to a good wash and wax job at the Co-op drive through car wash followed by an oil change at Fas Gas. After I get the interior cleaned up, it will be ready for city life!  Estevan is so busy with all the oil activity in the south-east.  I'll try to avoid driving around at peak times in the day or after dark.

Laurel's boys don't have school this Friday so we are planning to meet in Estevan that day and spend the night at my winter home.  Perhaps Kirk's (and Clare's?) will be able to join us for a pancake breakfast on Saturday.

Howard had a fall when he was home last weekend and his right foot is bothering him.  He had x-rays but they didn't show anything.  However, the x-rays were sent to a technician in Regina to be rechecked.  His foot is swollen and red so he is on antibiotics and has to keep his foot up.  He was quite sleepy today so we didn't do a lot of talking.  I went to visit Aunt Viola while he was having a good nap.

Well, I didn't get you filled in on all the events of the last week, but I'm going to wind this up anyway and go to bed early.  I'll do a blog after our weekend gathering.
