Our last 8:30 service!

Farewell tea for Pastor Cicely
There was a good turnout this morning for Pastor Cicely's last service at Trinity.  In fact, we ran short of bulletins and more had to be run off on the copier!  There were children there for children's corner too.  Pastor Cicely has always made the children an important part of the service.  She knows them all by name, even the grandchildren who are visitors from time to time.  Often she had an object for them to take home that fit in with her story.  And there was always a children's chorus that followed her story for them.  Today's chorus was "Put on Love".  It had a good lesson for adults too.  The chorus went like this "Put on love every day, never hide your love away. Don't save love for a special day, but put on love every day."  A good song to keep in mind and put into practice every day.

Our Torquay Grannies sang "Have Thine Own Way, Lord".  That is our prayer for Pastor Cicely and also for our congregation as we search for new ways to worship.  It sounds like we will have a service at Trinity next Sunday, September 4th at 10:30.

We closed with a very fitting song, "Blest Be the Tie that Binds".  Then we gathered in the auditorium to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea along with a special cake in honour of Pastor Cicely.  We were pleased that members from Sacred Heart stopped by for cake before their service.  Here's a picture of Pastor Cicely along with Father Lucey from Sacred Heart.  He was first in line for cake so he could be back in time to lead their 10:00 service.  He had his 90th birthday this year so is doing well to be so active.

We had good visits over coffee and were glad to have several couples out from Estevan this morning.
Fellowship over coffee has really been enjoyed so is something we want to keep doing.
