Soon it was my turn. I didn't expect to have freezing in order to have a new crown put in but I got two needles worth and was frozen up until noon. No hollering from me anyway, not even when I got the bill for $845! At least I've avoided dentures for awhile longer, just have two small fillings to tend to on Sept 12.
Then I was off to St. Joseph's and a visit with Howard. He was sitting in the lounge area and singing away . The weekly church service was at 11 so I stayed for that. Brenda, the new pastor at the United Church, was in charge of the service today. She is from Virginia so is a long way from home. She read several psalms dealing with gratitude and thanksgiving, also two poems. Favorite hymns were suggested by the residents. Vivian Vinge's sister Shirley was at the piano. Howard's suggestion was "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". I remember singing that one from the little Concordia hymnbooks at Bethel in Frontier. Those old hymns stick with us!
I couldn't chew so settled for a chocolate milkshake at the DQ before doing some grocery shopping and heading home.
I picked up the mail in town and was surprised to find a card from Rosalie in Moose Jaw. She is a good friend of Howard's cousin, Lorna Pederson. We met her at Cypress when her car had a flat tire and she came looking for some men to help change it. Rosalie and her sister were in the cabin just across the road and we may never have met had it not been for the flat tire. The boys were out golfing but three of them came over to help after their game. It didn't take long to have the old tire off and the spare put on. Rosalie sent two pictures of two little helpers, Blaine and his sister Katie. They are Sandra's grandchildren, Jason and Marion's children. I just had to post these cute pictures!

We sang that hymn at the "Sisters Churches" when you were here in 2009. We have it on video even. Its a goodie! Great post. Thanks for sharing. I do enjoy them.
