Weddings, Travels and Sailing!

This was another busy week and a very fun one with lots going on.

Todd had a great time with Kirk, Shauna and family at the Minot State Fair. They came back on Tuesday afternoon and he headed for his two nights at Clare and Jodi's. They went biking, swimming, sleeping in the camper and Todd got to experience running in the rain, lightning and thunder on an early morning run! He was ready to dive under a big truck if the hailstones got any bigger! He was soaked from head to toe when he got back to Clare's about 7:30 am on Thursday morning.

We left with Todd about 8:30 am and stopped at A&W in Moose Jaw for a quick snack. In Swift Current we stopped at Allan Corcoran's, Marion's dad, for a lovely lunch prepared by Marion and a surprise visitor there - my sister, Sandra!! They had come up the day before for an appointment and to pick up a new 6 week old golden retriever puppy. Marion thought he'd be named Wilson but two year old Blaine had another idea - Choo Choo. Can you tell that he is a lover of trains? It was so special to finally meet seven month old Katie. She was sitting up on the floor, a big smile on her face for everyone.

We stopped in Medicine Hat for a short shopping break, then on to Brooks for supper with the Ledene's. Howard and I drove back towards Tilley and spent two nights with his cousin, Carol (Bergum) and Larry Jasperson. Their two granddaugthers were visiting and taking in VBS each day at Bethany country church.

We visited with the Jasperson's on Friday (and I put the finishing touches on the wallhanging for Gib and Jolene!). We drove to Brooks for the rehearsal at five and I looked after Pastor Jason's two year old son, Ole. We read books, sang songs and played
with toys in the Children's Room. Here is a picture of Jason and Ole at the reception.
We arrived at the church half an hour before the wedding was due to start and Ole and I spent more time in the Children's room. Then we joined Howard on a back pew and waited for the wedding party to arrive. When they came in, Ole was sound asleep and slept in my arms until his dad picked him up on his way down the aisle after the service.

We checked in at the Ramada Inn and relaxed for a couple hours before it was time to head for the Duchess Hall, about fifteen minutes north of Brooks. We visited for an hour before the delicious roast beef dinner was served. There was a short program followed by a dance with a live band from the area. Since Howard and I aren't dancers, we enjoyed visiting with several guests that we knew and we also met several new friends. I'll add a few pictures and then I'm off to bed. To be continued.

  1. I can't believe how much Laurel looks like you in your wedding photo, Elaine!
