| We are still "newlyweds". |
November 15 is a special day for us as it marks the date of Alan's first visit to Torquay in 2014. We had been emailing and making daily phone calls since September, but hadn't seen each other since 1960 when I graduated from Frontier High School! That first meeting went well and confirmed that we didn't want to live 600 miles apart much longer. Three months later we were married!
We celebrated our nine months anniversary on Saturday by taking in the steak supper and fundraiser at the Torquay Community Centre. We didn't win any of the big prizes but enjoyed the supper and silent auction and came home with several of those items. I had donated some home baking and those items brought in over $100 to the cause as well. Thanks to all those who worked to make this annual event a success.
This past weekend was also a special one in our home town of Frontier. Here's a link to an article from the Gull Lake Advance http://www.gulllakeadvance.com/?p=2319 Just click on this link and another click will take you to an excellent article about this special event in memory of our greatnephew, Blaine Sanford.
Laurel, Eric and Ashley drove out to Frontier on Friday. Eric played 3 on 3 hockey with his second cousins Rylan, Drew, Ty, Nola and friends. They also enjoyed "socializing" as Rylan put it and spent fun times together at the Frontier Rec Centre and the Sanford farm. Ashley especially enjoyed Uncle Merle taking her to see the cattle. She is an animal lover! Laurel also enjoyed visits with her cousins Mandy, Tanya, Jason and Marion as well as Uncle Merle and Aunt Sandra, Uncle Alan and Aunt Judy. A visit to Frontier was long overdue! Here are a few pictures taken on their weekend visit.

Today family and friends of Howard's cousin Edith Vinge are gathered in Outlook for her funeral service at 11 o'clock this morning. Edith's brother Don has written such a fitting tribute to his sister. If you would like a copy of this eulogy, please email me at hejohnson@xplornet.ca and I will forward it to you.
This afternoon we are off to Estevan as Alan has a dental appointment. Tomorrow we are going to Weyburn for our annual medicals with Dr. Katy Fong.
Clare flies back from his sports trip to Phoenix this afternoon. It's foggy this morning but that should have lifted before their arrival in Minot later today.
The weather is cooling off after another above normal weekend. We may even get a "killing frost" this week but no snow in the immediate forecast. Enjoy!
