WATER!

Fun in this canoe for Lindsay, Ashley and Jamie at the pool
Water has been a problem for the last few days.  On Friday morning I turned the tap on in the bathroom and nothing came out.  Not good!  With nine of us using the supply, the well couldn't keep up and now there's a problem with the pump.  Bob Cranna was here twice.  He put in a new pump but couldn't get that going.  Today he ordered a jet to go in the well so that should be in tomorrow.  We manage with water from one neighbour and showers at another!  It makes us appreciate something we often take for granted!

It was fun to have Ashley here last week for Vacation Bible School. It went from 1:00 to 3:00 each day.  There were 24 registered the first day.  The teacher promised them that if they got up to 30, one child's name would be drawn to throw a pie at her face.  Jamie and Lindsay made the 30 on Thursday so teacher got her pie on Friday afternoon!

Ashley didn't get to VBS on Wednesday as Jamie was having her 8th birthday party at Lampman Pool that afternoon.  There were 12 at the party and they enjoyed cupcakes, lemonade and chips after they had spent an hour in the pool.  Then they were back in the water until 4:30 when they got their treats to take home.  Lindsay and Jamie came back with us.  We stopped in Estevan for groceries and KFC and headed back to the farm.

Laurel and Dawson joined us on Thursday evening.  Dawson put in a full day in the field on Friday, along with Carter.  That came to a stop on Saturday morning when we had rain, just a half inch here but 1.5 inches on the land east of here where they were combining durum.  Kirk and Carter headed home to Lampman and Clare headed to Winnipeg for their nephew Jimmy's wedding.  Jamie and Lindsay got a ride to Estevan on Friday afternoon with Gerry, Clare's helper, and Shauna picked them up there.  Jamie was anxious to play with all her birthday presesnts!

On Friday morning, Laurel, the three girls and I went to Crosby, ND for their sidewalk sales.  It was a very fun outing. There were free tacos in a bag served at noon and free hotdogs and pop down the street so we were treated well.  Stores had sale tables on the sidewalk as well as in the stores. The weather was perfect that day but not so good on Sat. with cooler temperatures and rain.  A street dance scheduled for Sat. evening had to be moved inside.  The kids all want to go back next year for this event!

It was quiet here on Sunday with just the two of us.  The Blue Jays were playing in the afternoon and in the evening we went to visit Heather and Hugh Schnell just two miles east of us.

Today I made three pumpkin pies so have desserts for harvest meals for a couple days.  We made ice cream on Friday so that goes good with the pie.

Now it's Tuesday evening and still no water!  Bob is going to Regina tomorrow so will pick up a check valve as the other one didn't look good.  Might as well do a thorough job so it will last for a while!

It was a great Blue Jay game tonight after coming from behind in the 9th inning to win the game.  The Yankees really got beat so that puts the Jays in front!

I may update with pictures but I better get his post published tonight so this is it for now.
