It's good to have Louise and Hartley on the farm again as we enjoy visiting back and forth with them. They came over on Friday evening and Hartley was pleased when I served lefse with our tea!
Today Clare moved their camper from Oungre Park to the farm in preparation for harvest. I had to go out and have a tour as this one is new to them, a 2013 model that had only been pulled from Weyburn to Nickle Lake, a distance ten miles or so for the past two summers! Jodi and Abbey joined him and we had pancakes with chokecherry syrup for lunch. Later Kirk, Carter, Lindsay and Jamie joined us. The guys made a trip "out west" to see how the crops were doing and Clare brought a tractor home from there. Then we had supper together. Jamie enjoyed setting the tables complete with name tags - red printing for the girls table and blue for the boys. She chose tea cups for the girls and mugs for the boys. Here are a few pictures:

Kirk went home alone so we have overnight company for two nights. The girls watched a movie on Netflix. Carter helped Clare, Jodi and Alan do some more clean up in the yard to make a campground for their trailers. Kirk is bringing theirs next weekend for our annual family camping weekend. We started doing this around Howard's birthday and continue this tradition, now in his memory. August 11th marks his birthdate eighty years ago in 1935. It also marks my mother's birthdate in 1919, now 96 years ago. We will remember them both on Tuesday as well as when we gather next weekend.
We had a new family in town join us for our morning worship today. They moved here from Lethbridge as he has work at a farm east of Torquay. They have a daughter in grade six and three younger boys.
Next Sunday it's my turn to serve coffee and goodies after the Sunday service. I'll have lots of help but have to decide what to serve. I'll have to ask the grandchildren for suggestions!
Jamie has fun dressing up in clothes that I keep in a "dress-up" box. Here she is wearing the dress I wore for my teachers college graduation in 1961!
Keep cool this week. The forecast is for temperatures in the 30 degrees F for the rest of this week!

Nice family times! I'll see you Sunday as we are done all of our summer camping.
ReplyDeleteAshley will be happy to see Emma as she is coming for VBS next week.
