REGINA TRIP

View out the office window on Monday afternoon.
Her partner just missed getting his picture taken too

Here they are hiding among the branches.
Getting braver, now on the front lawn at 5:15 pm

I had two appointments in Regina this past week.  It was also a good opportunity for me to visit my good friend Marilyn.  I took the bus from Weyburn on Wednesday morning and spent two nights at Marilyn and Ray's.  After lunch on Monday Marilyn and I went shopping.  We weren't big spenders - I bought a new sweater and she bought socks for a granddaughter.  Then we had a latte at Starbucks before heading for home.

They ordered in pizza along with Caesar salad and we enjoyed that while watching the seventh game of the World Series between Kansas City Royals and the San Francisco Giants.  It was a great game, even though the team I was cheering for lost!

On Thursday afternoon Marilyn took me for my eight week check-up after surgery (it was a little longer than that but the first appointment I could get when I phoned).  I was glad that the surgeon said that all was well and the pathology report showed no cancer.  (I hadn't even thought about that but I guess I didn't need to either!)  So now I can lift more than ten pounds and go back to vacuuming!

On Friday Laurel picked me up and took me to the General Hospital for a CT scan.  It took all of two minutes once I  got called from the waiting room.  I won't know any results until I meet with the neurologist some time in January.

Then I headed to the Diekrager farm with Laurel.  It was Halloween so Ashley was off to Gray with her friend, and second cousin, Wyatt and his family.  The rest of the family headed to Milestone, had pizza at a friend's house and the boys were off to gather treats.  Grandma stayed at the farm.  She and Ashley went to bed early as Ashley was tired after a day of school, a party and tricks or treats.

On Saturday afternoon Laurel drove me home after stopping in Weyburn to pick up some groceries.  It was a nice afternoon so we tackled cleaning the outside windows.  What a difference that made!  Now I can do the inside ones, a few each day.

Services at Trinity, Torquay are at nine for the months of Nov. and Dec., a change from our usual 10:30.  (We were just a few minutes late!) Pastor Danny had a super All Saints Day message. We enjoyed the fellowship over coffee and muffins.  (Thanks, Donelda.)

Then Laurel was off for Milestone after we stopped to put a garden flag on Howard's grave at Salem.

I spent a quiet afternoon watching the curling on TV and then the football game between New England and Denver.  I am not a fan of NFL football, but Kirk is and he was at the game so I watched part of it anyway.  He should be happy about his weekend as both of his favourite teams won.  He got to see the Boston Bruins win their hockey game against Ottawa on Saturday and then New England won their game today. He will be back home on Monday.

Now for Halloween pictures.  Carter missed out as he has the flu.

Abbey's VB team played in a tournament in Swift Current on the weekend.  They did well in winning bronze.  Congratulations!

Clare was curling in a Swift Current bonspiel so it was a busy weekend for their family as Jodi coaches the volleyball.  The curlers won two and lost two.

Enjoy this first week in November!
