HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODD!

The above picture was taken when Todd was ten months old.  It must have been a bit of "foreshadowing" when I pinned the "Kiss me. I am Norwegian" button on the bib of his overalls.  Who could have imagined that he would one day be living in Norway and that he and his wife would have a daughter born in Norway.  But God knew what was ahead for him and I feel that it was His prompting that had me pin that button on him for this picture.  I still have that button.  It's pinned on the cork board in the "Norwegian" room in the basement, along with pictures of Todd and Kristy in Norway.

Last year Laurel and I spent Easter with Todd, Kristy and Nora.  Easter was in March, much earlier than it is this year so we were back in Canada before Todd's birthday.  We had an early celebration with them.  This year they are on their own!  I sent a package but it ended up to be more for Nora than for Todd.  I think he will enjoy seeing her response to the items so that will be a birthday gift for him too, along with a package of his favourite red licorice.  Nora will enjoy the ToddWorld sticker book!

A surprise visit for Pappa at work today with brownies

Nora and Pappa at Swire

I didn't expect to chat with Todd today as he was taking a driving/safety course after work.  But when I was at Bible study this afternoon at Trinity, my iPhone rang with a Facetime visit with Todd.  After I had chatted a bit from the hallway, I took the phone to the kitchen and we all sang Happy Birthday.  He thanked us in Norwegian.  The beauty of technology to keep us in touch!

I had this blog post ready to publish but something went wrong and I lost the last half of it!  So you are getting a smaller edition than the original.  It didn't make it to publication in time for Todd to see it on his birthday but it's on time to celebrate his arrival at 10:10 pm on April 15, 1977 in Estevan.  The next months will be busy for Todd and Kristy with a new job, a move from Kristiansund to Førde and a trip back to Canada for the month of July.  Can't wait to see you!!
