HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIRK & SHAUNA!

Wedding reception at Lampman School

Kirk's got back from their holiday in Mexico a week ago today.  Since they will celebrate their 14th anniversary on Tuesday, this is an appropriate time to share the pictures from their trip.  If the warm weather holds, Salem church could have had a wedding there on April 8th this year.  The yard is bare but the interior might need a couple heaters to take the chill off, as it did in 2000.  Happy Anniversary!
At the yearly Sunday service at Salem, I still like to wear the dress I wore to your wedding!

The Men's World Curling was on this week from Bejing, China.  With the difference in time zones, the Canada games were at odd times on TV.  I watched the playoff game between Canada and Norway which was on at 9pm and went until midnight.  It went down to the last rock but Norway was too tough for Canada and won when Ulsrud made his last shot and won 3- 2.  That was a nail biter!  Norway went on to win the gold with a score of 8-3, the first time that Sweden and Norway have met in the final game. That game started at 1:00 am.  I woke up around 2:30 so checked the score.  It was 5-1 for Norway and I went back to bed. Norway last won gold in 1988 and the skip of that game was inducted into the curling hall of fame this year.  Canada ended up fourth, missing the podium for the first time in quite a few years.

Last Thursday morning, after my time at the library, I dropped off a book for Tracey as the quilting guild was meeting that day.  I really timed it right as they were having a potluck dinner as their quilting year is winding down with spring's work around the corner.  I couldn't turn down the invitation to join them!  Not only are those ladies top notch quilters, they are top notch cooks as well!  I was treated to quite a feast and also enjoyed looking at the projects they were doing.  You made my day, ladies!

Saturday was the start of nice warm weather so I got started on my messy garage.  I gathered up the cans, cardboard, milk jugs and papers to recycle.  I dropped off three bags at the recycle bins in Torquay.  The rest will go to the Workin Shop in Estevan.  Clare had Joe out that day too so they were working on getting tractors and machinery ready for spring.  Clare needed advise from Hartley so Louise and I had a good visit while they solved the problem.  It's good to have an experienced mechanic close by!

I visited with two cousins in Lethbridge via phone this evening.  Arlene's birthday was yesterday and Helen and Johnny had their 62nd wedding anniversary.  I think they are the first in our family to reach that milestone with cousin Esther and Maynard just a year behind them.

So that's it for tonight.  April has two more family events before Easter so watch for them - Greg and Laurel's anniversary on the 12th,  Todd's birthday on the 15th.  Enjoy this week of spring weather!
