OFF SCHEDULE!

Nora getting dressed all by herself!

I seem to have taken a vacation from blogging this week!  My last post was last Saturday.  On Monday I went to Lampman for two nights as Kirk and Shauna had meetings and appointments in Regina.  I came home on Wednesday afternoon to fields that were more brown than white after above zero temps for a few days.
On Thursday morning I heard news from Torquay that is so sad.  One of Clare's classmates, Kenny Bjornson, died while working on the pump out system for the town's sewer system.  He was 44 years old, had spent his whole life in Torquay doing various jobs and now was working full time for the town -caretaker at the skating rink, looking after the coal heating system for the rink and the Community Centre (former school), checking the town water supply, running a Bobcat and any other jobs that the town needed doing.  His funeral service will be at 2:00 on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Torquay.

Another tragedy this week has been the disappearance of a Boeing 777 jet with over two hundred people on board.  It is truly a mystery that seems to get more complicated as time goes on.  I cannot imagine what it is like for those who had loved ones on this plane and after almost a week to have no knowledge of what happened or where this plane is.

Last weekend Abbey took part in a club volleyball tournament in Saskatoon.  Their 13 and under team came out victorious with gold medals.  Clare was curling in a Dominion Curling competition in Kindersley.  They lost out on Sat. night in a tie breaker for their pool so that enabled him to get to Saskatoon and watch Abbey's two final games.  Here's a picture of the winning team and their coach, Dustin Satre who has Torquay connections as his parents are Robert and Karen (Steinke) Satre.

Tonight Ashley is taking part in Milestone's Can Skate ice carnival.  She is a sailor and Grandma had plans to be there for the weekend.  But the forecast is calling for snow tomorrow so I think I will stay put and take in the skate by video or Facetime.  Here's a preview picture taken at their dress rehearsal on Wednesday.

That's it for this week.  I'll try to update on Sunday or Monday so don't give up on me!
