GOOD NEWS AND NOT

Remembrance Day

The best news of the day was that Jeff Roller, cousin Esther's son-in-law, received a new liver in an eight hour operation in Dallas, Texas.  It's great to have the Caring Bridge site for updates and exciting to hear that the surgery was underway and went well.  Prayers continue for his recovery.

The news today for my boarder Jeff was not what he wanted to hear.  The transfer to Sarnia, Ontario that he had been told would happen in January is no longer in place.  He is not wanting to spend another six months away from his wife and sons, especially after being informed not long ago that a transfer was in the works. Pray that somehow the transfer will still happen!

Five year old Ashley had two teeth pulled today in Regina.  She said that it didn't hurt but she can't whistle any more!  It's a good thing they were baby teeth so she will get new ones before too long.  She is looking forward to the tooth fairy's visit.

I am heading for Estevan after my session at the library on Thursday morning.  I have an appointment for a haircut, then I'm going to visit Irene Fritag. I have a couple lists of items to pick up so I will have to keep moving to get them all done and get home before dark.

It's Remembrance Day on Monday so no school that day.  Some students also have Friday off and some have Tuesday so they will have an extra long weekend.  Maybe I'll get some company!  I'd like to get to Crosby one of these days so maybe Friday will work for that little trip.

I got my new bed and put it to use on Tuesday night.  It took four men to get it in place!  Jason and Reg picked it up at the Sears office in Estevan and brought it home with Clare's "Rider" pickup. Clare and Jeff moved the old bed out and the new one in after supper last night.  It's a few inches higher than the old one so I almost need a step stool to climb into bed!  It's comfortable and I enjoyed the first night's sleep and am soon ready for the second one.

  1. Well"..I am sad that Jeff hasn't been given a position in Sarnia but I do have to say we will miss him here when he does get one!! I have my fingers crossed for him to be back with his family!
