Mothers Day

Mothers Day flowers from Kirk
Yes, I am late with my "Sunday" blog post, just got home Monday afternoon after spending the night in Milestone.  I drove to Lampman on Sunday after morning service at Torquay and arrived just in time for Lindsay and Jamie's dance recital in the curling rink.  It had been transformed with a stage built by many volunteers and the dance teacher, Kyla Sonnenberg from Weyburn, who is also a journeyman carpenter.   The Johnsons had a row of our own with Kirk, Shauna, Carter, Laurel and Ashley, Grandma Elaine, Grandma Louise and former babysitter Carol.  The recital moved on smoothly with Lindsay taking part in five dances and Jamie in three   The girls did very well and looked so grown up with their hair pulled back in buns, makeup on their faces and a lovely outfit for each dance.  We then went to Kirk and Shauna's where Kirk barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs to go along with yummy salads and cupcakes.

After supper Laurel headed home to Milestone and Ashley and I followed in Kiwi.  We were back before eight so got to visit with the guys for a while before bedtime.  They had taken Grandma Gaylene out for brunch and then played a round of golf so had a good Mother's Day too.

On Monday morning Eric had a Dr. appointment in Regina so he and Laurel left around ten.  Ashley and I watched a short movie and she practiced some golf shots in the yard. Then she spent some time building towers with blocks in the cool basement.

We went to Milestone School at 2:30 to watch the dress rehearsal of "Stone Soup, a 'Rock' Musical" put on by the the grade four class with help from the grade three chorus.  They did a super job, had painted a great backdrop for the setting and added trees and rocks for the village.  Eric even sang a few solo lines and did very well in his part as one of the soldiers.  On Tuesday afternoon they will present it to the seniors from Milestone's Carrington Court as well as grandparents and other guests.  The students will serve tea and goodies following the program.  The grade four class "adopts" the residents of Carrington Court  and does special things with them though out the year.  This spring tea is the final event for this years grade four class.

I went to sleep on Monday night to the sound of rain on the roof.  It lasted a couple hours but there was just one puddle on the driveway this morning.  It certainly freshened things up but won't delay seeding very long.  Wind is in the forecast for today so that will dry things up in a hurry.

Our Faith circle is meeting this afternoon at Trinity so it will be good to get together over a Bible study once again.  See you later this week.
