ALL ABOUT NORA

Nora is seven months old as of April 7 so I will feature her in this blog.  She is not a Norwegian even though she was born in Norway.  But she will enjoy many of the benefits of life in Norway even if she is officially a Canadian.

Norwegians spend a lot of time outdoors.  Babies even have their naps outside in their buggies.

My napping place on the front step.  A baby monitor lets Mom know when I  am awake.
My play area in our cosy living-room
I am a very happy baby!

Sleeping in my car seat
Fun with Dad at "Baby Song"
(It's a music program at the church for babies like me)

The preschool where I will go when Mom goes back to work in September.  I will be in the Piglet group with six staff members for the eighteen children ages two and under.

I wonder what this Brus (Norwegian pop) tastes like.
Ready for the sunshine!
Enjoying the Good Friday pølse roast with Dad and my friend Emmanuel
Spending time with Tante Laurel
All bundled up for my outdoor nap in my buggy
My welcome sign in the kitchen instead of at the airport
My new Easter dress from Auntie Laurel
Chewing on a rubber ladle.  Dad thinks it's very funny!

Out for a walk after a snowfall
Nora also takes part in a baby swim at the local pool every Tuesday evening.  A dozen little ones plus their parents enjoy half an hour in the water.  Nora was propelled under water from parent to instructor and didn't mind a bit!

It was great to spend time with Nora in Norway!  She moves backwards and in circles on her tummy and will soon figure out how to crawl.  Then watch out, Kristy and Todd!  She will be a busy baby on the move.  Perhaps Mormor and Morfar will be there when she gets her first tooth and learns how to crawl.  It's great to have Facetime to see her in action.  Thanks for the wonderful time we had with you in Kristiansund.

  1. What a lovely blog. I was telling Chris and Sandy (my sons with young children) that babies used to have naps outdoors. Love Nora's clothes. It's nice that Nora has frequent family visits. We use Skype with Theo in the UK.
    All the best, Shirley Doyle
