Just a quick update to let you know that we are getting closer home. We drove from Brooks to Frontier on Sunday afternoon after a special brunch at Dan and Helga's with two sets of Kristy's aunts and uncles joining us. Everyone is anxious to welcome Nora to the family!
Today Jason, Marion, Blaine, Katie and Rhett joined us at Sandra's for a good visit. Merle is barbecuing steak for supper so Todd will be very pleased!
Tomorrow we are going to Alan and Judy's for breakfast and a visit before we head for Torquay. I see there is some snow in the forecast so we hope that doesn't affect our travels.
Nora has been a very good traveller whether by plane or by car. She slept all the way to Shaunavon yesterday, but was ready to keep moving again after a quick stop for her "supper".
Shortly after I got to Brooks on Thursday, I learned of the passing of a dear friend, Lilah Daae. I had visited her on Sunday as she was in the hospital for blood and platelets, a procedure as part of her cancer treatment. She was feeling better that day and hoped to be discharged on Monday. But that wasn't to be and now her funeral service will be at Trinity Torquay on Wednesday at 2:00 pm. We plan to be back at the farm tomorrow and attend her funeral service. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
This is a brief post again, but I hope to make up for it in a few days. I'll be adding pictures too so stay tuned!
