I enjoyed a weekend at Lampman ending with a special Sunday in Estevan. Kirk and Shauna had two staff Christmas parties, one on Friday in Lampman and the other in Oxbow on Saturday so Grandma enjoyed staying with the kids. Carter was coming and going with a hockey tournament in Estevan. They were one of sixteen teams so it was a three day event. I took in the first period of their 4:00 game today and was glad to see Carter score a goal just in front of us at Spectra Place.( The Lampman/Arcola team won this game against Weyburn.) Then I headed home as I don't enjoy being on the road after dark, especially when there's a chance of freezing rain! I think that went north as Laurel said Greg had to "crawl" home after Dawson's game in Milestone.
I had thought of driving back to Torquay for morning service at Trinity, but decided to worship at Faith Lutheran this morning as Pastor Daniel Krauss was installed there as head pastor of Faith Lutheran Brethren Churh during the morning service. Pastor Art Hundeby came from Saskatoon to officiate so it was great to hear his fine message and to chat a few minutes after the service. Howard and I first met Art when he and three of his brothers sang in a men's quartet in Torquay years ago. We got to know Art best when he worked at LCBI the years that our four spent some of their high school years there. It was good to connect again.
After service I enjoyed having lunch at the Homestead with Ray and Verna. I don't enjoy eating alone at a restaurant so might have just skipped lunch otherwise! Then I went to visit Aunt Viola at St. Joseph's. She had also had a visit from her son Hartley and Louise. She was especially pleased that her grandson Dustin from Regina was with them today. I hadn't been there since the lockdown was over so it was good to visit again. I also had a quick hospital visit with Lilah, who is hoping to go home tomorrow.
On Saturday night the rink in Milestone celebrated it's 20th anniversary with a special supper, guest speakers and auction. Laurel helped at the supper and Grandma Gaylene helped by keeping Ashley for the night. Here are a couple pictures from that event.

Today is a special day for Kristy's mom, Helga, as she celebrated her 60th birthday with Dan, Todd, Kristy and Nora in Mexico. The other three girls and spouses went home last week. Kristy decorated the room and Nora wore a special red "Christmas dress" for the occasion. They will be flying back to Brooks on Wednesday and I will be taking the bus from Regina to Brooks on Thursday. My blog post on Wednesday might be very brief! I'll stay at Laurel and Greg's that night and she will take me to meet the 8:30 a.m. bus in the morning. It gets to Brooks at 3:35p.m. so the Greyhound connections are good.
And that's all for this week. I'll be back on Wednesday for a quick visit from Milestone.
This is sort of a P.S. as I meant to show you the Advent calendar that Sandra put together this week. She needed a change after spending most of the week baking lefse, flatbread and krumkake for the Frontier craft/trade show on Saturday.
