July 28, 2012
Here we are at Todd and Kristy´s so I can update my blog.  We have had a wonderful trip right from the start.  We made all our connecting flights and so did our suitcases.  The only casualty was a broken wheel on my big suitcase but thank goodness the remaining wheel has stayed on and I am still able to pull it.  Now it will have a rest until August 6 when we leave here for two days in Copenhagen.

We have experienced so many things in these past ten days but I will hit a few of the highlights. Since a picture is said to be worth a thousand words I will share several of those.  Sandra has been the photographer and we viewed her pictures last night on Todd and Kristy´s iMac.

We were guests in their home in Oslo

Vigeland Park in Oslo
As children, this was our favorite picture in our grandparent´s book about Norway
Now we have both seen him in person

"Senior" work by Vigeland

The monolith carved from one piece of granite

The opera  house in Oslo where Justin Bieber recently performed on the roof
and caused a sensation among Norwegian girls
Renovations on the palace

Eika cousin reunion in Skien
Erickson sisters at the Eika reunion!
Off to Bergen on the train

This is as far as I will take you tonight and I will continue our progress report another day!

  1. What a great way to keep your family and friends updated while you are travelling! So nice to see the pictures too. Question: Are the Eika's relatives on your Dad or your Mom's side of the family? I don't recognize the name. If I ever get to Norway again, I will have to try to meet some of the Haaland relatives. It's good that you are still connected. Have a good visit at Todd & Kristy's and fun on the rest of your trip
    Diana.
