It's Sunday evening, just three more sleeps until we leave on our trip to Norway! My suitcase isn't full yet but I'm sure it will be by Tuesday morning! I was doing some final (I hope!) sorting and packing today. Tomorrow I'm going to Estevan for a haircut, a visit with Aunt Viola and some shopping.
The following itinerary may be boring for some of you so you don't have to read any farther! I'm posting it so family members and others who are interested can follow our travels and keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go by car, plane, train and boat. The scariest part of our last trip wasn't the time in the air but a taxi ride with a woman driver in Barcelona, Spain! She passed every car ahead of her while talking on her cell phone or her CB radio. We were thankful to arrive safely at the airport, albeit in record time!
I should be able to blog from Oslo but that might be it until we arrive at Todd and Kristy's. I'll keep a journal so I can update from time to time. Now, here's the itinerary I promised you.
July 17 Tuesday afternoon: Sandra and I will meet at the Diekrager farm north-east of Milestone
July 18 Rise and shine! After breakfast Laurel will drive us to the Regina airport. Bon voyage!

10:35 - depart Regina airport
15:25 - arrive Toronto Pearson
20:55 depart Toronto Pearson
July 19, 10:35 arrive Copenhagen, Denmark
13:30 depart Copenhagen Airport
14:45 arrive Oslo, Gardemoen where Kari Eika will meet us
Thursday to Sunday: with Kari Eika and her family
then to an Eika cousin reunion in Skien, about a three hour drive south of Oslo
July 23 (would have been our 46th anniversary)
8:42 Eika's will take us to meet the train at Drammen to travel to Bergen on the west coast
15:00 train due to arrive in Bergen, take taxi to Ferry Boat terminal
16:15 boat leaves for Rubbestadneset, Bømlo (where our mother's parents were from)
17:45 ferry arrives, Amund will meet us and take us to his mother's home, Gunvor Bottolfson's, where we will stay for three nights ( she doesn't speak English so Norsk immersion!)
Monday evening to Thursday morning- visiting, touring at Bømlo
July 26 6:45 take the ferry to Bergen
8:10 arrive in Bergen and find the Augustin hotel where we will stay that night
visit Nykirken where our grandparents were married in 1902
visit the fish market and SHOP!
July 27 more sightseeing and shopping!
18:45 flight to Kristiansund
19:45 Todd and Kristy will meet us at the airport!
July 27 - August 6 time with Todd and Kristy!
Aug 6 - 9:15 - 10:10 flight to Oslo
12:20 -13:20 flight to Copenhagen
Taxi or train to the Scandic hotel, our home for the next two nights while we are tourists in Denmark
Aug 8 12:25 Depart Copenhagen for home!
14:50 Arrive in Toronto
16:35 Depart Toronto
17:52 Arrive in Regina!! Laurel will be there to meet us and take us to their farm or to
the Diekrager cottage at Echo Lake!
Aug 9 Home to the Johnson farm south-west of Torquay!

10:30 church service at Salem on Sunday with picnic lunch
