Thursday thoughts

I haven't been in a blogging mood this week but I better update this today.  Then I'm off to Milestone for a night or two.  Tomorrow brings a trip to Regina to renew my passport.  I went to the Estevan office to do that on Tuesday but was told they couldn't guarantee that it would be back in time for our trip to Norway on July 18.  My current passport expires in October but most foreign countries want one that is good for three to six months past the date you will be leaving that country and returning home.  That means mine must be good at least until November 8.  I had the picture taken earlier so just need to do the short form of two pages.  I've heard of two people who realized the night before their scheduled trips that their passports had expired!  They were both able to get new ones in Regina on the morning of their flights so that's good to hear!  At least I won't be down to that deadline.

We had a good circle meeting on Monday at Heather's.  That included a tour of their beautiful yard/park.  The dahlias were in full bloom as were the tiger lilies and many other lovely blossoms in bright array.  With all the rain we've had, the grass and vegetation are so lush.  I was so impressed with all her hostas, perfect plants for shady areas.  I must put more of those in my yard.

On Tuesday I got the oil changed at Long Creek Motors and then did some shopping.  I found a pink rain jacket  at Sportchek, as well as new runners with purple laces. (They'll match my purple lug bag!)  The jacket is by Helly Hansen and the tag reads "Designed and developed in Norway since 1877" so it should be suitable for our Norway trip!  I've actually started picking out clothes that I want to take along.  I've been needing a pair of blue jeans.  Would you believe that I found a pair of navy French Dressing jeans at Salvation Army and they fit!  One more item off my list.

I haven't been very ambitious this week, can't even get myself to work on thank you cards.  I'm taking them along to Laurel's and maybe we can do a few together. She hasn't had a chance to read a lot of the cards that have come so this will be a chance to spend time at that.

Well, this is short but it's time to get packed up and get on the road.  It's a lovely day for a drive, sunny and warm.  I might even need the air conditioning on today!

By the way, don't look for post number 300 anytime soon.  I discovered that there were quite a few drafts included in that number so once I deleted about twenty of those, I have a few weeks to go before hitting the 300 mark.
